Editorial Standards

Primary sources have priority

Company coverage is not a customer-review system

Internal linking should improve the article

Internal links are selected because the destination helps answer the next likely question. We prefer a full contextual sentence inside the body of an article instead of automated keyword linking. This keeps the site navigable without turning prose into a collection of SEO anchors.

Corrections are part of publishing

We do not treat a correction request as an attack on the publication. Factual concerns should be reviewed against the strongest available evidence. When a material error is confirmed, it should be corrected. When the original wording is supportable, we may retain it and explain the basis for the decision where appropriate.

What we will not do

  • invent a premium or quote;
  • present an optional endorsement as standard coverage;
  • claim a universal winner where the answer depends on consumer circumstances;
  • copy another publication’s article structure or wording;
  • hide a material commercial relationship that should be disclosed;
  • use a company’s marketing claim as a substitute for the policy when the contract says something more specific;
  • create fake customer reviews, testimonials or first-person experience.

These standards work together with our Research Methodology, Affiliate Disclosure and Corrections Policy.
